California Child Support Services Statewide Guideline Calculator Undergoes Mandatory Updates to Reflect 2025 Federal Tax Changes

Federal law requires that the California Department of Child Support Services statewide case management system include the ability to calculate child support according to our state’s guideline formula. The statewide Guideline Calculator is certified annually by the Judicial Council of California (JCC). Following mid-year tax changes that resulted from the implementation of H.R. 1 on July 4, 2025, California Child Support Services is updating the Guideline Calculator to ensure accuracy of support orders.

The current Guideline Calculator was decertified by the JCC on Saturday, December 13, 2025, until all updates are complete. Statewide child support offices and courts will use an alternate certified calculator during the update.

Child Support Services is working closely with our county partners and the JCC to provide resources and support while updates are being made to the statewide Guideline Calculator.
