2026 Child Support Awareness Month
RANCHO CORDOVA, CA – August is Child Support Awareness Month, a time across the country and in California to recognize the responsibilities parents manage when raising children together. This month highlights the state’s ongoing work to make the child support process clearer, easier to understand, and more accessible for parents.
California’s child support program provides services that help parents through every step, including setting up and changing court orders, locating parents, completing genetic testing, arranging medical support, and handling payment collection and distribution. These services are free or low-cost to ensure all families can get the support they need.
“Our goal is to give parents a simpler, more accessible path to meeting their child support responsibilities,” said Kristen Erickson-Donadee, Director of Child Support Services. “We know co-parenting can be challenging, and we work to make support easier.”
During Child Support Awareness Month, California Child Support Services renews its commitment to supporting parents and their children. By offering tools that make the process easier and more accessible, we aim to help parents focus on what matters most — creating stable, nurturing environments where children can grow and thrive.
